is expired donated blood is dangrous to touch or to experiment with anything?
Chemically speaking, blood is actually a much better source of paint than it is of weapons!
It sounds wild, but it is 100% true. When you extract the iron from blood and react it with the right chemicals, you get a beautiful, vivid blue pigment called Prussian Blue.
There is actually a pretty crazy historical coincidence tied to this:
The Secret History of Blood and Blue Paint
Back in the early 1700s, a chemist named Johann Jacob Diesbach was trying to create a bright red paint in his laboratory. To save money on ingredients, he used a batch of potash (a chemical) that had been accidentally contaminated with animal blood from a butcher.
Instead of getting red paint, the iron in the blood reacted with the chemicals and turned a shocking, brilliant deep blue. He had accidentally invented the world's first modern synthetic pigment—Prussian Blue.
Artists fell in love with it. In fact, if you have ever seen the famous Japanese painting The Great Wave off Kanagawa (the big blue wave) or Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, they both use the exact shade of blue that was originally discovered using blood chemistry!
So, if a wealthy mad scientist or eccentric artist ever actually managed to get their hands on a few liters of blood for an experiment, they wouldn't walk away with a cool, metal "blood sword." They would just end up with a very expensive paintbrush and a tube of blue paint! 😂
